Email marketing in Birmingham

I work with Birmingham shops and ecommerce brands remotely, monthly, inside your own email platform. This page covers what tends to be different about a Birmingham list: the makers, the mix of trade and retail buyers, and the calendar.

Everything runs remotely, by email and the occasional video call. There is no Birmingham office and I do not hold in-person meetings.

Working with a freelance email marketer in Birmingham

Birmingham has a long history of making things and selling them, and a lot of its online shops still look like that: a workshop in the Jewellery Quarter, a family business that sells to trade and to the public, a brand that grew out of a market stall. The email needs are practical. Keep past buyers coming back, keep trade customers ordering, and stop depending on whatever a marketplace algorithm does this month.

Working with a freelancer rather than an agency means one person builds the flows, writes the campaigns and reads the numbers. You email the person doing the work, and nothing gets lost between an account manager and a designer. The about page says who that is.

What is different about a Birmingham ecommerce list

Three things, in practice.

High-value items bought rarely

Jewellery, watches and bespoke pieces are bought once and then not for a long time. That puts more weight on the welcome series and the post-purchase follow-up than on a weekly newsletter. Care guides, resizing, engraving and anniversary reminders give honest reasons to email between purchases.

Trade and retail on the same list

Plenty of Birmingham businesses sell to both. Keep them apart. A stockist should never receive a consumer discount email, and a consumer does not need your minimum order quantities. The wholesale guide covers the trade side.

More than one festive peak

Birmingham has one of the most diverse customer bases in the UK. Eid, Diwali, Vaisakhi and Christmas can all be real trading moments, depending on what you sell. Plan them with the right products and timing rather than a generic seasonal banner.

January is quiet for discretionary spending and better suited to restocks, reorder reminders and useful content. Valentine's Day and Mother's Day matter a lot for jewellery and gifting, and both depend on delivery cut-offs, so the last-order-date email is often the most valuable send of the month.

Autumn gets busy early. Diwali, Black Friday and Christmas can fall within a few weeks of each other, and a calendar agreed in August stops everything being written in a hurry in November.

None of that needs a bespoke strategy. It needs a calendar agreed in advance, so nothing is written in a panic.

How the monthly work runs, wherever you are

The arrangement is the same for a Birmingham brand as for one anywhere else. Everything runs remotely, by email and the occasional video call. There is no Birmingham office and I do not hold in-person meetings, which is part of why the price is what it is.

I work inside your existing email platform. Campaigns get written and sent, the flows your plan covers get built and looked after, list health gets checked, and you get one page of numbers every 30 days. The pricing page has the numbers, and getting started sets out the first month week by week.

What the first ninety days looks like

_□×

Month one: fix and build

Deliverability and list hygiene first, then the first flows your plan covers, usually welcome and abandoned cart. Nothing new gets sent into a broken account.

Month two: rhythm

Campaigns on an agreed calendar, drafted a fortnight ahead, in a template built for a phone. Further flows go in behind them if your plan includes them.

Month three: segment and refine

By now there is enough data to split the list properly and improve individual emails on their own numbers rather than guesses. The services page covers the ongoing shape of it.

Birmingham email marketing FAQs

Do you meet clients in Birmingham?

No. Everything runs remotely, by email and, when it helps, a video call. You are never waiting for a meeting to get an answer.

Can you handle a trade list as well as retail?

Yes. They get separate segments, separate campaigns and different flows. That split is usually one of the first things the audit looks at.

Do you reply to my customers?

No. Replies from your customers land in your inbox and stay yours to answer. I answer your questions about the email work.

What do you need to get started?

Your shop URL for the free audit. If you go ahead, user access to your email platform and the few things listed on getting started.
