Email marketing in Dublin

I work with Dublin shops and ecommerce brands from the UK, remotely and monthly, inside your own email platform. This page covers what is different: the euro, Irish bank holidays, and selling across the Irish Sea since Brexit.

Everything runs remotely, by email and the occasional video call. There is no Dublin office and I do not hold in-person meetings.

Working with a freelance email marketer in Dublin

Dublin shares a time zone with the UK, so the working day lines up and nothing needs scheduling around. The differences are in the detail: currency, holidays, consent rules, and what happens when an Irish customer orders from a UK shop or the other way round.

A freelancer on a monthly plan works inside your platform, writes and sends the campaigns, and looks after the automations your plan covers. Invoices are in pounds sterling.

What is different about a Dublin ecommerce list

Three things, in practice.

GDPR plus Irish ePrivacy rules

Ireland applies GDPR alongside its own ePrivacy regulations for marketing email, overseen by the Data Protection Commission. They are close to UK rules, including a limited soft opt-in for existing customers, so a properly consented list usually carries over.

Brexit changed cross-border orders

Irish customers buying from UK shops can face customs charges, and UK sellers need to be clear about duties and delivery times. If you sell both ways, say it plainly in the abandoned cart email, where uncertainty costs the sale.

Show euro prices to Irish buyers

Where your platform allows it, show euro prices to an Irish segment. A sterling price makes people do sums and doubt the total.

Irish bank holidays include St Brigid’s Day in early February, St Patrick’s Day on 17 March, the first Mondays of May, June and August, and the last Monday in October. The October bank holiday lands close to Halloween, which is a bigger trading moment in Ireland than in most of the UK.

Christmas cut-offs across the Irish Sea come earlier than domestic ones, so the last-order email for cross-border customers needs its own date.

None of that needs a bespoke strategy. It needs a calendar agreed in advance, so nothing is written in a panic.

How the monthly work runs, wherever you are

The arrangement is the same for a Dublin brand as for one anywhere else. Everything runs remotely, by email and the occasional video call. There is no Dublin office and I do not hold in-person meetings, which is part of why the price is what it is.

I work inside your existing email platform. Campaigns get written and sent, the flows your plan covers get built and looked after, list health gets checked, and you get one page of numbers every 30 days. The pricing page has the numbers, and getting started sets out the first month week by week.

What the first ninety days looks like

Month one: fix and build

Deliverability and list hygiene first, then the first flows your plan covers, usually welcome and abandoned cart. Nothing new gets sent into a broken account.

Month two: rhythm

Campaigns on an agreed calendar, drafted a fortnight ahead, in a template built for a phone. Further flows go in behind them if your plan includes them.

Month three: segment and refine

By now there is enough data to split the list properly and improve individual emails on their own numbers rather than guesses. The services page covers the ongoing shape of it.
